Where to Chip Your Christmas Tree in the Tri-Cities

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, but it is getting time to take down the decorations. One of the biggest questions every year is how to dispose of your Christmas tree, Well, there are several places to can take your tree to be chipped in the Tri-Cities this year, many of which are also charity fundraisers. Read on for details.

Coquitlam

  • Jan 6 & 7 – Town Centre Park (1299 Pinetree Way) from 9 am to 4:30 pm, run by the Coquitlam Kinsmen.
  • Jan 6 – Canadian Tire parking lot (1200 Seguin Drive) from 9 am to 3 pm, run by Scouts Francophone de Maillardville.
  • Jan 6 & 7 – Mundy Park (gravel lot, off Hillcrest Street) from 10 am to 4 pm, run by Friends of Mundy Park Heritage Society.
  • Jan 7 – Centennial secondary school (parking lot off Winslow Avenue)from 9 am to 3 pm, run by Centennial Music Department & the Kinsmen Club.

Port Coquitlam

  • Jan 6 & 7 – Firehall #1 (1725 Broadway Street) from 9 am to 4 pm, run by Port Coquitlam (minimum $5 donation to the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund). The firefighters will also collect trees from homes or businesses for a minimum $10 donation. Call 604-927-5405 to arrange a time.
  • Until Jan 28 – Art Knapp Plantland and Florist (1300 Dominion Ave.) from 10 am to 4 pm (minimum $5 donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada).

Port Moody

  • Jan 6 – Heritage Mountain Community Centre (200 Panorama Place) from 10 am to 3 pm, run by the City of Port Moody.
  • Jan 6 – Westhill Park (203 Westhill Place) from 10 am to 3 pm, run by the City of Port Moody.
  • Jan 6 – Kyle Centre (125 Kyle Street) from 10 am to 3 pm, run by the City of Port Moody.
  • Jan 6 & 7 – Inlet Centre Firehall (150 Newport Drive) from 9 am to 4 pm, run by Port Moody firefighters & IAFF Local 2399 (minimum $5 donation for the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund).
