The annual Port Moody RibFest is a fantastic community event combining live music, family entertainment, craft beer, and of course, delicious BBQ food. It’s also free to get in and explore everything that’s on offer.
BBQ joints from across Canada will be present at the RibFest, competing to win one or more of the award categories. A celebrity judging panel will determine the ‘Ribbers’ serving the Best Sauce and the Best Ribs. In addition, one further award — People’s Choice for Best Ribs — will be decided by a text vote.
This year the following establishments will be competing to serve you the juiciest, tastiest ribs of all:
- Gator BBQ (Port Dover, Ontario)
- Boss Hog’s (London, Ontario)
- Smoke & Bones (North Vancouver, BC)
- Prairie Smoke & Spice (Regina, Saskatchewan)
- Misty Mountain BBQ (Hinton, Alberta)
This is your opportunity to taste some of the best ribs, pulled pork and other BBQ food in the business. It’s worth noting that these ‘ribbers’ will only be accepting cash, so bear that in mind. There will be two ATMs on site, though, if you don’t have the chance to go beforehand. If you want to enjoy a craft beer or other beverage with your ribs, the event has a safe rides service which will operate between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm.
It’s also the perfect event for music fans, with 18 bands set to perform over the course of the weekend. Below is a full schedule of the acts that will get you up and dancing at Port Moody RibFest:

There is also plenty to keep the little ones occupied at this kid-friendly event. Children will definitely enjoy the climbing wall, art activities, face painting and more.
