This year, as you are probably aware, marks Canada’s 150th anniversary and there have been many events to mark the occasion. Later this month, at the Kyle Centre (25 Kyle Street, Port Moody), The Port Moody Rock & Gem Club will also celebrate the anniversary. A special display of 150 rocks, fossils and minerals will be used to tell the story of Canada from a different perspective.
As well as the display — titled ‘150 Rocks | Celebrating Canada Through our Rocks and Minerals’ — there will be various other activities at the event, including spin & win, rock hunts, a silent auction, refreshments and more.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 28th, and Sunday, October 29th, 2017, from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is by donation.
