If your kids show an inclination for the stage, they can have a great time and learn some new skills at the Evergreen Cultural Centre, starting this fall. There is a range of different programs on offer, such as improv, jazz dance and acting. See below for a full list of what’s on offer.
Improv (Ages 15-18)
Aimed at older teens who are serious about building up their performance skills, this Improv class will cover a range of show formats that will push students to grow. There will also be two performances for friends and family.
An audition is required for this class, and auditions will take place on October 3rd from 5 pm to 7 pm. The classes themselves will be on Tuesdays at 5 pm to 7 pm, from October 10th, 2017, until May 8th, 2018.
Price: $375 + tax (Payable in instalments.)
Jazz Dance Level 1 (Ages 13+)
This is the ideal class for anyone who has wanted to learn to dance but was too scared to try. The professional dance instructor will set you upon a journey with dance. Dress code is black jazz shoes with a leotard, tight and black shorts for females/t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants for males.
Classes will take place from 10 am to 11 am on Saturdays from October 7th, 2017, to April 28th, 2018.
Price: $350 + tax (Payable in instalments. No GST for 14 years and under.)
Jazz Dance Level 2 (Ages 13+)
This class picks up where the level one class leaves off, ideal for anyone wanting to build on their skills. It will cover technique, alignment and emotion. The class will perform two shows for friends and family. Dress code is black jazz shoes with a leotard, tight and black shorts for females/t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants for males.
Classes will be at 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturdays from October 7th, 2017, to April 28th, 2018.

Intermediate Acting (Ages 12-16)
This course is aimed at anyone with some acting experience and wondering how to continue on that path. It will not only teach acting skills but also supplementary skills such as preparing for auditions. There will be two performances, one at Christmas and one at the end of the course.
Classes will take place on Mondays at 6 pm to 7 pm from October 2nd, 2017, until April 30th, 2018.

Intro to Tap Dance (Ages 13+)
This class will initiate you into the world of tap, arming you with basic dance skills while having lots of fun along the way. Tap shoes are required. NOTE: This class can be taken on its own or as an add-on to Jazz Dance (Level 1 or 2) at a discounted fee.
Classes are from October 7th, 2017, until April 28th, 2018, on Saturdays at 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
