On September 23rd, the Colour Run is coming to the Tri-Cities. Unlike a traditional 5K run, this event includes being blasted with colour at various points along the way. It’s a fun-filled way to get some exercise and top up your happiness levels.
The run will be held at Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park (1200 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, BC V3B 4S1) so it is easily accessible via transit. The park is just a short walk from the Lafarge Lake- Douglas Station on the Evergreen SkyTrain line. The race ends with even more fun at a dance party and colour throw.
The event starts early on Saturday with a 7 am check-in. The race itself begins at 9 am and the dance party afterwards runs until 11 am. If you are taking part, it is a good idea to wear glasses and a bandana over your mouth/nose to stop the colour getting in. You needn’t worry too much, though; the colour is 100% safe and biodegradable. You should definitely wear clothes that you don’t mind the colour getting on. While it should wash out afterwards, there are no guarantees.
