Join in with this huge celebration of the salmon returning to lay their eggs. This free event is fun but also educational. Learn about the salmon’s life cycle at the same time as enjoying lots of family activities.
As well as seeing live salmon, you will be able to tour an operational hatchery and discover the work that goes on there. There will also be face painting, cookie decorating and other crafts, as well as BBQ refreshments.
The event is held across two locations: the Hyde Creek Recreation Area (1379 Laurier Avenue, Port Coquitlam) and the Hyde Creek Education Centre & Hatchery (3636 Coast Meridian Road, Port Coquitlam). The two locations are just a short walk apart.
The Hyde Creek Salmon Festival takes place on Sunday, November 29th, 2017, from 10 am until 3 pm.
