Hear from local voices in the arts, culture and heritage at Coquitlam’s first Cultural Summit. The aim of this event is bring important creative figures from the local area together to increase collaboration in Coquitlam’s art and culture scene.
Taking place on Saturday, November 4th, 2017, from 9 am to 3 pm, the summit will feature a range of discussions, talks, and entertainment — all with that aim in mind. Speaking at the summit will be
- Howard R. Jang – Simon Fraser University Professor of Professional Practice in the School for the Contemporary Arts, and the Director of the Simon Fraser University Woodward’s Cultural Unit (Keynote speaker)
- Carrie Nimmo – Manager of Cultural Development and Community Services, Port Coquitlam
- Leanne Christie – Urban Oil Painter
- Joan McCauley – Executive Director, Place des Arts
- Fiona Black – Director of Programming, Capilano University Centre for the Performing Arts
- Nancy Cottingham Powell – Executive Director, North Vancouver Community Arts Council
- Dave Seaweed – Aboriginal Student Services Coordinator, Douglas College
