To celebrate the anniversary of Mackin House, the Coquitlam Heritage Society will be offering free tours of the house as well as the Fraser Mills Train Station. There will also be snacks, crafts and more at this free event celebrating both the anniversary and the grand opening of the Fraser Mills Station. In addition, attendees can enter a prize draw for the chance to win afternoon tea in the Mackin House’s parlour.
Mackin House is one of the oldest homes in Coquitlam and one of the last examples of the Fraser Mill Homes. Built in 1909, it was once the home of General Sales Manager of the mill company, Henry Mackin. Along with Ryan House (home to the Mill Manager), it is known as one of the ‘Mansions on the Hill.’ Since 1999, it has been a museum run by the Coquitlam Heritage Society.
This event takes place on Sunday, September 24th, 2017, from 12 pm until 3 pm.
